Favorite Light Panel Scene – The Classic Visualizer

Meet Adonis: A singer, songwriter, and ice cream connoisseur. If you asked his fans to describe him, they would say he’s incredibly fun and slightly eccentric. Well, considering last week he showed up to the Nanoleaf office in a bright yellow, pineapple shirt and matching shades, we would agree.

Adonis’s love for music came from his family. His brother’s been in a band for over 15 years, and his father plays classical greek guitar. However, Adonis’s love for mood lighting came all on his own.

He first discovered the Nanoleaf Light Panels when he was recording in a studio he rented while his own personal studio was under construction.

“I was recording Criminal and there was this gorgeous Light Panel [set] right above the recording booth, and I was like ‘what is this?’”

He was immediately blown away by the mood-setting Light Panels and decided he had to use them for his Canada Performance. Thousands of fans gathered around to watch Adonis’s first headlining show that weekend.

We set up this entire board [of Light Panels] that acted as the DJ booth, and we had the lighting technician kind of mimik what colors and what patterns were happening on that, so it was this whole encompassing kind of show.”

And although Adonis was impressed by his own stage setup, the crowd was even more blown away, by one aspect in particular.

“They loved it….I think they really loved the Rhythm Module especially, because it was flashing and flickering. It was incredible.”

Today, Adonis uses the Light Panels and Rhythm Module not only for his performances, but also for writing and producing music. He’ll set the Light Panels to different colors depending on the mood of the song: darker hues for moodier songs and brighter colors for happy, energetic songs. Of course, the speed and motion for the Rhythm scene will vary as well, giving each song it’s own unique scene to set the tone.

And then there are Adonis’s personal uses for the Light Panels…

“I use them from the moment I wake up til the moment I go to bed…” Adonis shares. “I’m just that kind of guy. I love lights around me, I love color lights. They set the mood and the atmosphere and they set you up for your day.”

From shows to his creative process to even just his everyday…seems like ice cream isn’t Adonis’s only obsession, he’s a Light Panel enthusiast as well!

And as far as future plans go, Adonis has already shot a music video with the Light Panels for his new song “Criminal.” He’s expecting to release the video within the next few weeks, and we can’t wait! After all, what could be better than some fun music and a light show to go along with it?
