Designing Your Layout

Slow down tiger! Before you mount your panels onto the wall, plug it in to a power source and try it out on a table or floor. You can also use the tools below to help plan out your design!

Mounting Your Shapes

1
Preparing Your Surface

The Nanoleaf Shapes should only be installed indoors and on a flat surface that can support the weight of the panels. Clean your surface to be free of dust and moisture (1.1). The included Mounting Tape is NOT recommended for textured, porous, popcorn and ceiling surfaces (ie. wallpaper or brick walls).

2
Preparing Your First Panel

Designate a panel from your setup as the starting panel. Attach all needed linkers before you attach any panel to the wall.

3
Connecting the Controller
& PSU

Connect your Controller and PSU into available linker slots of the first panel. Plug the other end of the PSU into a power source to ensure that your setup is on and properly connected as you continue to connect your panels together.

NOTE: NOTE: Each standard 42W PSU supports up to 21 hexagons (2W per panel). Each Controller supports up to 500 hexagons. The Controller and PSU can be connected to any panel in your setup.

4
Mounting Your Panels

Take one piece of tape, peel off one side and attach it to the Mounting Plate at the back of the panel (4.1). Peel off the other side of the tape and press the panel firmly against the wall. Hold for 30 seconds to ensure that your panel attaches firmly (4.2).

NOTE: Make sure to leave end of the tape sticking out. This will allow you to safely remove them later from the wall.

5
Completing Your Setup

Attach all needed linkers before you mount the next panel to the wall. Continue to link each panel together and ensure that each panel lights up. Make sure the linkers are fully snapped onto the linker slot, the panels should be aligned edge to edge.

?
Need to Dismount Your Shapes?

Gently snap off the panel from the wall. The Mounting Plate will remain on the wall (1). With one hand on the Mounting Plate, use your other hand to pull the end of tape along the wall. Do not pull perpendicularly or at any other angle, otherwise you may damange your wall (2).

NOTE: Need more Mounting Tape? Available for purchase Q3 2020.

Cycle through the following preset white light modes:
Warm White (2700K),
Reading Light (4000K),
Daylight White (5000K).

Hold the Power button for 3s

This opens a 30s window to pair.

Placement Recommendations

The following tips can help your Nanoleaf Shapes achieve the best wireless range & network reception.

1.

Place your Shapes in an open area where there are less obstructions, such as large pieces of furniture or walls.

2.

Avoid placing your Shapes behind furniture or inside cabinets.

3.

Don‘t place your Shapes in areas surrounded by metal surfaces on three or more sides. This can cause signal issues.

4.

Try to place your Shapes at least 25 feet (8 meters) away from any microwave oven, 2.4 GHz cordless phone, Wi-Fi devices, or other source of interference.

5.

Place your Shapes as close to your Wi-Fi home router as possible. For best performance, keep the distance below 65 feet (20 meters) and have no more than one wall in between.
