Controlling your Rope Light
Controller
The Nanoleaf Rope Light comes with 10 preset multicolored Scenes. These can be accessed directly through the controller, without downloading the Nanoleaf app.
Nanoleaf App
With the Nanoleaf App, you can turn your lights on/off, control brightness, group lights by room, create your own multicolored Scenes or explore thousands of already made ones.
Control your rooms and devices. Click on a specific device to adjust brightness, change the Scene it’s playing, or create your own Scene!
Find and download new Scenes created by the Nanoleaf community. Search up any word or phrase to get inspired by what others have created or have our Magic Scene generator create a color palette inspired by your search term.

Smart Home Ecosystems
Nanoleaf Rope Light is Matter-enabled and works with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings. To control your lights with a smart home ecosystem, you must have:
- Matter compatible smart home hub (e.g. Apple HomePod mini & HomePod 2nd Gen, Google Home Mini & Nest Hub 2nd Gen, Amazon Echo 4th Gen)
- Latest software and firmware on your devices/app (min. iOS/tvOS 16.5+ or Android OS 8.1+)
- Change the color of your light (single colors only)
- Adjust brightness
- Set Schedules
- Use Voice Commands
- Control your device away from home
Voice Control
You can control your Nanoleaf Matter Rope Light by voice in a few different ways if you connect it to a smart home ecosystem and Matter compatible hub.
Make sure to name your device something simple in the Nanoleaf/smart home ecosystem app. Use your smart home ecosystem’s voice assistant to utilize voice control.
“Turn [Device Name] on/off.”
“Set [Device Name] to 10% brightness.”
“Brighten/dim the lights.”
“Brighten/dim the lights to [%].”
“Set [Device Name] to [Color].”
“Turn on [Device Name].”
“Turn on/off the lights in [Room Name].”
