Matter Holiday String Lights User Manual
How big a tree can the Holiday String Lights cover?
They should comfortably cover a tree that is 5 to 7 feet high, but this also depends on factors like the shape of your tree, and how close or far apart your string lights are when you wrap them around your tree/space.
Can I attach additional strings together?
Holiday String Lights cannot be physically connected together to form one extra long set. If more than one set is used, they will act as their own independent units.
You can however, utilise the Nanoleaf App and apply group Scenes to more than one set of Holiday String Lights so that they all play the same Scene at the same time.
Can I use the Holiday String Lights outside?
Yes! These lights are rated IP44, which means it can withstand water splashes and light rain.
Are these Matter, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth compatible?
You can control the Nanoleaf Holiday String Lights over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or with Matter over Wi-Fi.
You can connect your lights to the Nanoleaf App via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Connecting to a smart home ecosystem app on the other hand, will require Matter over Wi-Fi (you need a Matter compatible hub as well).
There is also the option of using the easy access controller that is attached to your Holiday String Lights for some quick actions.
How should I set up the Nanoleaf Holiday String Lights for the best light effect?
Please refer to the physical set up section of the user manual for instructions.
Are the Holiday String Lights static, or do they have various settings?
There are several types of Scenes for you to choose from! With the Nanoleaf App, you can choose from or create your own static colour Scenes (single, or several colours at once along the string lights), animated Colour Scenes and/or Rhythm Scenes (reacts to sound & music).
Even the preset Scenes that you can access directly through the controller are a mix of static colour Scenes, animated Scenes and Rhythm Scenes.
How do I connect my device to a Smart Home Ecosystem app using Matter?
To connect your Matter Holiday String Lights to a smart home ecosystem like Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, or Samsung SmartThings, you will need the following:Option A
A Matter compatible hub that is already set up in your homeOption B
Latest software/firmware on all your devices.
We recommend pairing with the Nanoleaf App first, and then following the instructions within the App to pair with a smart home ecosystem. Refer to the Pairing with Smart Home Ecosystems section for more details.
How do I control my lights with voice commands?
To access voice commands, your lights must be connected to a smart home ecosystem using Matter. Once connected, you will be able to use common voice commands with your chosen voice assistant to control your lights. See the Voice Control section for more details.
How do I change the colours on my lights with the Controller?
When your lights are on, you can cycle through the preset holiday themed Scenes with a single press on the button on the Controller.
You can also cycle through a Warm White, Cool White, Red, Green, Yellow (Gold), Blue by doing a quick double press.
How do I create my own colour Scenes?
Go to the Nanoleaf App Dashboard, and click on the device you’d like to create a new Scene for (this can later be shared with other Nanoleaf devices).
Hit “Create Scene” to create your own single coloured, or dynamic (multiple colours and/or motion) Scene!
You can also try out Magic Scenes for some AI magic – simply type in a phrase or word, and watch as a colour palette is automatically generated for you.
Can my lights react to music?
Yes! Two of the nine present holiday themed Scenes are sound and music reactive. You can easily access this through the Controller.
You can also explore more Rhythm Scenes through the Nanoleaf App (look for Scenes with a music note icon) and create your music reactive Scenes!
Can my Holiday String Lights be synced with other Nanoleaf lights?
Yes, you can do this in two ways.1. Utilise Group Scenes
You can group multiple Nanoleaf Lights together on the Nanoleaf App dashboard. This provides a shortcut for you to play the same Scene across multiple products in a simple tap.2. Sync with Nanoleaf 4D (COMING SOON)
You can also extend the TV screen mirroring effects* that you get with Nanoleaf 4D to your Holiday String Lights! Set this up by going to your Nanoleaf 4D settings and then “Devices & Position” on the app.
This feature will become available with a future firmware update on the Holiday String Lights and Nanoleaf 4D.
