What are Nanoleaf Matter Smart GU10 Bulbs?

Nanoleaf Matter Smart GU10 Bulbs are smart LED spotlight bulbs designed to upgrade compatible GU10 fixtures with vibrant colors, tunable white lighting, and intelligent smart home control. Available in Matter over Thread and Matter over Wi-Fi models, they offer the same premium lighting experience with 16M+ colors, dimming, schedules, Circadian Lighting, and Matter compatibility.

What's the difference between the Matter over Thread and Matter over Wi-Fi models?

Both models deliver the same lighting performance, smart features, and Matter compatibility. The only difference is how they connect to your smart home. Choose the Matter over Thread model if you already have a compatible Thread Border Router or Thread-enabled ecosystem. Choose the Matter over Wi-Fi model if you prefer a direct Wi-Fi connection using a 2.4 GHz network.

How can I control my Smart GU10 Bulbs?

Nanoleaf Matter Smart GU10 Bulbs can be controlled using a standard light switch (power on/off), the Nanoleaf App, compatible Matter smart home ecosystems such as Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings, or with voice commands through supported voice assistants.

What do I need to use Matter?

To use Matter, you'll need a compatible Matter smart home platform. Matter over Thread models require a compatible Thread Border Router, while Matter over Wi-Fi models require a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Both models require iOS/tvOS 16.5+ or Android 8.1+ (or later) when connecting to a Matter-compatible smart home ecosystem.

Can I use these bulbs without a smart home ecosystem?

Yes. Both models can be controlled directly using the Nanoleaf App. Matter over Wi-Fi models connect using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi during setup, while Matter over Thread models use Bluetooth for setup before connecting through your Thread-enabled smart home ecosystem.

Can I control multiple GU10 Bulbs together?

Yes. Group multiple Nanoleaf smart lights together using Group Scenes in the Nanoleaf App, or create unified groups, rooms, and automations within your preferred Matter-compatible smart home ecosystem.

Can I use these bulbs with a traditional dimmer switch?

No. Nanoleaf Matter Smart GU10 Bulbs are not compatible with traditional dimmer switches. Brightness should be adjusted using the Nanoleaf App, compatible smart home ecosystem, or supported voice commands.

What is Matter?

Matter is a universal smart home standard that makes it easier for compatible devices to work together across major smart home ecosystems. Nanoleaf Matter Smart GU10 Bulbs work with Matter-compatible platforms including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and more.

Can I create custom colors and lighting Scenes?

Yes. Personalize your lighting with 16M+ colors, tunable white lighting, custom color palettes, animated Scenes, Circadian Lighting schedules, and AI Magic Scenes using the Nanoleaf App.

Which GU10 Bulb should I choose?

Choose the Matter over Thread model if your smart home already includes a compatible Thread Border Router for a low-latency mesh network. Choose the Matter over Wi-Fi model if you'd prefer a direct Wi-Fi connection. Both models provide the same brightness, colors, smart features, and Matter compatibility.

Amazing!

This is such a well thought out product!
I was amazed by how strong the adhesive is and how well everything blends in!
The cherry on top is that you never get to see the light source, just its reflection.

Improving slowly, but still too buggy

Iva a house full of these GU10 bulbs, and they are only now finally getting the firmware in a place where they almost work. I’d say 80 % of my 24 bulbs work smoothly now, but it’s the 20 % that randomly dim, change colour, stop responding, etc. that cause the most frustration. They have improved over time though, and I’d expect in another 6 months they’ll work perfectly (I hope)

So close

They are so close to being perfect. The only issue I have is they don’t have Apple’s Adaptive Lighting feature so they don’t stay the same color temperature as my other Nanoleaf Essentials.
