FAQs
- 1
Does this switch need to be hardwired?
It does not! The Sense+ Wireless Switch has a magnetic mounting plate that can be mounted onto a wall with adhesive tape (included) or screws. No hardwiring required!
- 2
What kind of battery does the switch use? How long does it last?
The Sense+ Wireless Switch includes a replaceable CR2477 Battery with a battery life of 1+ years.
- 3
What devices can I connect to this Switch?
You can connect almost all Nanoleaf Smart Lights to the Sense+ Smart Wireless Switch. The only exceptions are Nanoleaf Canvas, OG Light Panels & Smarter Partner products.
You can also connect non Nanoleaf products to the Switch via Matter depending on the list of devices you have available in your smart home ecosystem app. - 4
Can I pair/configure the Switch on multiple phones?
By default, each Switch can only be paired/configured with a single mobile device. However, you can access it on additional devices if they are logged into the same Nanoleaf Cloud account.
- 5
Can I turn off the motion/daylight sensors?
You can disable Sense+ (motion/daylight sensors) directly within the Nanoleaf App.
- 6
Why are my lights turning on/off by themselves?
Sense+ is designed to automate turning on and off your lights. If Sense+ is turned ON, your lights will turn on/off automatically based on your motion/daylight sensor settings.
- 7
Can I pause the sensors temporarily?
Yes! You can pause Sense+ directly within the Nanoleaf App, or via your physical switch by Long Pressing (2s) the ON or OFF button.
This is ideal for situations such as:- Keeping your lights OFF while you watch a movie
- Keeping your lights ON while you sit to work or read
- Keeping your lights ON while you take a super long relaxing shower
You can resume them by pressing (single press) the ON or OFF buttons once
- 8
What is the motion sensor range?
The motion sensor has a field of view of 120° and a range of 15ft. It cannot sense through walls or objects. To increase the coverage of Sense+ motion sensing in your home, you can add additional Switches to the same Control Group, or to a different Control Group in the same room.
- 9
What if I want different settings at night?
Configure “Night Time Mode” within the Sense+ Control Group view to set how you want your lights and sensors to behave during that specific window of time.
This will allow you to configure whether Sense+ is turned ON/OFF at night and the brightness levels all connected lights should turn on to if triggered by motion or the Sense+ switch during nighttime.
For example, if you set Night Time to be from 10pm – 7am, and wake up to use the bathroom at 3am (Sense+ turned on), your lights can turn on to only 10% brightness to avoid disrupting your return to sleep afterwards. - 10
How does the switch communicate with all the lights connected to it?
It uses a proprietary wireless control technology (protocol) called Nanoleaf Litewave. It allows the switch to connect to all your Nanoleaf lights (regardless of whether those products are running on Thread, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) in a more robust and reliable way, for seamless, instantaneous control.
NOTE: The Sense+ Wireless Switch does require Bluetooth for the initial pairing with the Nanoleaf App.
